Altarx respects the privacy of users and DOES NOT COLLECT ANY DATA.
Altarx and its developer, Jean-François Vaduret, do not have access to anything done with Altarx by the users. Nor do Altarx or the developer collect personal data from the users.
When the user uses the ArXiv and/or ADS integrations, Altarx exchanges data with the ArXiv and/or ADS API. The data exchanged is limited to the search query given by the user. Like, other data handled by Altarx, all data acquired this way is kept on the user’s device and never collected. However, both ArXiv and ADS have their own privacy policy which the user should consult to learn how their data is handled. Altarx or its developer, cannot be held liable for how ArXiv or ADS handles their user’s data.
Altarx offers an opt-in feature to synchronize the user’s data across their Apple devices via Apple iCloud. When the user opts in to use this feature only Altarx’s paper lists and papers data will be stored in the user’s private Apple iCloud container for Altarx. PDF files downloaded with Altarx are stored in the user’s private iCloud Drive. The developer has no access to this data. The Apple iCloud privacy policy applies to the data stored in this manner.
If the user had previously enabled the feature to synchronize Altarx’s data using Apple iCloud and Apple iCloud Drive, upon disabling this feature Altarx will not remove the data from Apple iCloud or Apple iCloud Drive. The user agrees that they are held responsible to dispose of their data from these services themselves.
